At the age of 17 French multi-instrumentist Jacques Dudon taught himself how to play
the guitar, after which he started an electric blues band called The Soul Bag. Not much
later the band changed its name to Ghislain Blues Band and then finally to Blues Bag.
In 1968, the band discovered LSD, resulting in a stylistic change towards psychedelia.
The band recorded a single for EMI using the name L'Assemblée ('Le Chien') before
calling it a day. Then, in 1969, Jacques Dudon made some recordings for a solo-album,
but the project collapsed and the music was never issued... until now!

Sounding somewhere between Soft Machine and Art Ensemble Of Chicago, this LP contains
previously unreleased recordings of this French jazz band founded by Jean-Pierre
Carolfi and Jean-Pierre Weiller in 1970. Never managing to release an album (til' now
that is), their main recording legacy consists of live tapes that were taped while on
tour with Hugh Hopper. Carolfi and Weiller also played on Hopper's 'Monster Band'

Monster Mélodies presents an unpublished recording of Opus Minor, an underground
Parisian group with undeniable musical qualities, who gave numerous concerts during
its brief existence from 1970 to 1973 but never had the opportunity to publish its
recordings. The record consists of an instrumental track, seven songs sung in French
and three more songs in English, in which the band, beyond its influences, creates
its own musical universe.
